Dr. Simeons observed women in third world countries who were working hard and long hours with very little food. From this observation Dr. Simeons realized that whether the mothers ate or not, the baby was STILL GETTING THE NUTRITION needed through a biological process involving a natural hormone called hCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin. hCG is the hormone found in every human tissue, in males and both pregnant and nonpregnant females. It increases significantly during pregnancy and helps to support the growing baby in its early stages. Doctors have used hCG for years in treatments including fertility and pregnancy tests. It also has been clinically proven to work in weight loss when coupled with a low calorie diet. Based on Dr. Simeons’ weight loss guidelines, the hCG diet involves using a very small amount of hCG (compared to the surge in pregnancy) to stimulate the body to burn fat cells while eating a very low calorie diet (VLDC). Normally on a very low calorie diet, the body goes into “starvation mode” and causes the body to store fat. When hCG is used in conjunction with a very low calorie diet for a short period of time, the body is stimulated to burn excess fat cells instead of storing it. Most diets that deal with reducing calories alone do not work. When an overweight/obese individual tries to reduce calories to reduce weight, they will first burn their normal reserve fat cells. Once these are used up, the body will begin to burn the structural fat cells. Both of these types of fat are essential and are not the kind of fat that leads to obesity. The last fat cell to be utilized by the body is the abnormal fat, or the fat that causes people to be overweight. By the time the person gets to this point, they feel hungry, fatigued and generally give up the diet. If there are signs of weight loss, it is usually not in the desired areas. The good fat, or the normal reserve and structural fat are diminished leading to sagging skin, and the bad fat stays (belly, hips, and thighs). It also depletes nutrients which can lead to further complications. hCG may help to reshape the body’s fat deposits and target specifically the abdomen, buttocks, upper thighs, neck and face. Those who have taken hCG while dieting report that it is much easier to stay on the diet and they seem to lose inches rapidly from the primary fat stores, in particular, the belly, buttocks, and thighs. Reports show an average loss of 0.5 to 2 pounds per day. hCG can be used by men and women with no reported unsafe side effects.
