Laser Skin Resurfacing with Less Downtime

happywomen-320w.jpg Tuscany MedSpa is delighted to announce that we are the first and ONLY medical facility in Southern Arizona to offer laser skin resurfacing using the high definition Mixto CO-2 fractional laser.   The new laser's tighter focal point and innovative quadrant fractional technology reduces heat build-up and results in less pain and quicker recovery times.

Not only do most patients see immediate results, but the new technology also stimulates the production of new collagen in the skin during six to twelve weeks following the procedure.

If you have heard from others that laser skin resurfacing is painful or that you need to take a week off work to heal, then you are talking about older technology (which are still in use in many older spas and medical facilities).   With Tuscany's new high-speed laser scanner, area skin resurfacing is performed by a computer algorhythm which spreads the longest possible time interval between two adjacent treatment spots, insuring that the skin has a chance to cool.  This significantly reduces pain associated with treatment, and cuts the recovery time in half, allowing clients to use make-up within 48 hours, and complete recovery within a week.

At Tuscany, we generally don't use anesthesia when we perform fractional laser treatments, and even on the strongest settings of the laser, use of a mild topical aesthetic cream is enough keep the skin cool and make the procedure pain-free.    When using traditional lasers, the laser moves along a line from spot to adjacent spot, which leads to pain from thermal buildup, and  significantly increases recovery time and healing time with no added benefit.

Another benefit of the fractional technology is that most skin resurfacing can be done in a SINGLE 20 minute procedure, compared with two or three much longer procedures often required using traditional lasers.    The computer-scanner quickly delivers laser pulses to larger surface areas based on the doctors specifications, and then the doctor can go over certain areas with a hand-piece and and apply deeper treatment to areas that might need it.
