Chemical Facial Peel Post Treatment Instructions

During the next 1 - 3 days after treatmeent, skin subjected to a mild Jessner's or Glycolic peel can develop a persistent mild red-brown colouration. This may be streaky. For 2 - 3 days, the skin feel like a layer of plastic film has been applied, and then it exfoliates for an additional 2 - 4 days. Normally the skin appears windburned with moderate flaking but actual peeling is rare.

With a stronger peel the exfoliation may last as long as 8 - 10 days. Some significant actual peeling may also be seen with this peel rather than just dry, flaking skin. Crusting and weeping are not typically seen with Glycolic or Jessner's peels.  The depth of a peel is related to the preparation of the skin prior to peeling, the thickness of the stratum corneum, the sensitivity of the skin, the number of coats of solution that are applied and the method of application.

Botox Post Treatment Instructions

The most common side effects following injection include temporary eyelid droop and nausea. Localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with the injection. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects.

Within a few days, you may notice an improvement in the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows that can last up to 4 months. Results may vary.

Cosmetic Filler Post Treatment Instructions

The affects of cosmetic fillers is immediate, so some patients want to go out immediately after treatment.  Ideally, patients should use caution for the first four days after treatment, including:

  • Use ice packs intermittently for the next 2-3 hours to reduce swelling and discomfort
  • Tylenol may be used for any discomfort (avoid aspirin or ibuprofen)
  • Arnica (topical or oral) may be used if bruising is present or you are prone to bruising
  • Avoid massaging, smoking drinking out of straws, or whistling for the first 4 days
  • If small nodules or bumps develop, you may begin to massage them after 24 hours
  • Call of return if you experience persistent pain or redness
